With all that goes on in life, it's easy to forget what the next step is when a loss occurs. Below is a helpful checklist for those times.

Auto Claims

Step 1 - Reporting
When an auto loss occurs, such as an accident, the first step in filing a claim is to contact our friendly, helpful staff.  They will need to see the police report (if you have one) and will help you file the claim report.

All Massachusetts clients must complete the Operator's Report of Motor Vehicle Accident from the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

Step 2 - Appraisal
Once the proper forms are completed, within 48 hours, you will be contacted by your insurance carrier's adjuster to arrange a time convenient to appraise the damage. You can also have your local auto body repair shop or garage give estimates.

Step 3 - Repairs

Step 4 - Payment
At this point, the insurance company will issue a check based on the types of coverage that your policy states. The turn-around time generally takes 10-14 business days. If you have a loan on your vehicle, the payment will be payable to you and the corresponding company.


Glass Claims

Although you can contact any service of your choice, our agency has made special arrangements with some of the local glass providers to give our clients better than average service.  We recommend that you contact our office and we'll make all the arrangements with the glass company while you are on the phone.

If the claim occurs after business hours and you don't want to wait, you can call Glass America at 866-690-1006 or visit www.glassusa.com.  You will need to let them know who your agent is and our phone number. The glass company verifies the type of comprehensive coverage you have with us , and in most cases, directly bills the insurance carrier. So you're given timely and convenient service — not to mention a clearer view!


Homeowner Claims

Just like with auto claims, you'll need to contact us directly, as soon as time allows to report a loss.  It will help the reporting process if you have all the information ready.  Here are some of the typical questions that we'll ask:
  • What is the location of loss?
  • When did the loss occur?
  • What is the type of loss? (Fire, theft, flood, etc.
  • Please describe the damage
  • Which police and/or fire department did you report it to?

For your convenience, we have also provided an online claim reporting form that you can fill out and submit to us.

Once we have the information and contact the insurance company, an appointment will be made with an adjuster. Then, as with other claims, it will take 10-14 business days to process the claim and if applicable, process payment.


Business Claims

Just like with other claims, you'll need to contact us directly, as soon as time allows to report a loss.  It will help the reporting process if you have all the details ready.   For your convenience, we have also provided an online claim reporting form that you can fill out and submit to us.

Massachusetts employers must report injuries to their employees on the  Employer's First Report of Injury form issued by the Commonwealth.
